Google High-Speed Net Coming to Kansas City, MO
Google is expanding its Ultra-High Speed Fiber Project from Kansas City, Kansas into Kansas City, Missouri. Being in both cities will strengthen the entire region and increase the ability of the metro to attract innovation high-tech entrepreneurs, cutting edge technology companies and data driven industries.
Local officials and residents are thrilled, and so, apparently, is Google. It is the basis for creating the products and services of the Internet of the future; it is the real tool for economic development for our community. You need to have a good infrastructure to attract the next generation of businesses and jobs.
U.S. businesses, both large and small, depend on broadband services to run various facets of their businesses, including tracking inventory, monitoring consumer relations, and forecasting product sales. Studies show that communities in which broadband is widely available experience greater growth in employment, greater increases in the overall number of businesses, and a greater number of businesses in the information technology sectors.
