The Importance of Blogging

I watched a presentation today about the business value of blogging. And apparently it is pretty important. Who knew? According to the study analysis of 3700 businesses:

  • Almost 50% of people read blogs more than once a day
  • 40% of people read 5 to 10 blogs
  • 30% of people read 10 to 50 blogs
  • 80% report reading blogs in the morning
  • 10 to 11am is the magic time for the most reading of blogs
  • 46% of companies report acquiring new customers because of the company blog
  • 43% of them are B2B and 57% of them are B2C companies

More is more!
100% of those that blog multiple times a day and 90% that blog on a daily basis report acquiring new customers because of their company blogs.

Some might argue about the utility of blogging nowadays considering how big social media websites such as Facebook and Twitter have become over the last few years. However it is important for your clients and partners to have a real, direct contact with your company. Of course, Twitter and Facebook are great ways to interact but your content on these platforms should only be a sample of what your audience should be expecting from your blog, so it is your call to make it as appealing as possible, within 160 characters!

So here I am blogging about blogging. Since the numbers make it pretty clear how important blogging is, it is time to make this a priority.
