Where were you in 1990?

Kathryn and Mike McDaniel were moving to Kansas City in 1990. They decided to relocate to Kansas City from Tulsa, Oklahoma to begin raising their family as well as to get into the printing business. Both Kathryn and Mike were in the printing industry for many years prior to 1990, but the time was right to become owners of their own printing company. After looking through the classifieds, a small printing company was found for sale, and the McDaniels purchased that company.

Almost 20 years later COLORMARK is thriving and has expanded from a one room shop to a 40,000 square foot printing facility. Starting with one employee, COLORMARK has grown to 50 employees in less than two decades. This growth has been especially great for the Kansas City community. Kathryn, president and majority owner, feels very strongly about giving back to the community that has made COLORMARK a success. By helping numerous non-profit organizations across the board, COLORMARK is doing their fair share plus more, to help those in the Kansas City area that need help.

Many awards have been earned over the years by COLORMARK. These awards signify a true dedication to the art of printing by all of the people who make up the COLORMARK family.

COLORMARK is a woman owned business. The company is also fully certified as an environmentally safe and conscious printer. These two designations have helped propel the company to a successful level. The real driving force behind the success of COLORMARK is the expertise and skill of the people who work together to truly make COLORMARK a very unique printer.

1990 – Moved to Kansas City to begin COLORMARK, Inc.
1996 – Won gold OMNI award from the advertising and marketing community
2001 – Expanded operations by adding a 6-color 40” Komori Press and moved to Kansas City, MO
2006 – Became a woman-owned certified business and won 3 silver OMNI awards
2007 – Became FSC certified to enhance environmental operations
2008 – Expanded services to include variable data printing, fulfillment and mailing by adding a Kodak NexPress Digital Color Production press along with XMPIE and Pro-Mail software
